What is yoga

Share this article with your friends & family.

If you think yoga is about twisting and turning your body into strange shapes, now is the time to rethink. Yoga is too much. Simply put, yoga is going to take care of your body, mind and breath. Derived from the Sanskrit word ‘yuj’, meaning ‘united or unified’, yoga is a 5,000-year-old Indian encyclopedia. The purpose of yoga is to harmonize the body and brain through various breathing exercises, yoga poses (asanas) and meditation.

What is Yoga?

The term yoga is often interpreted as discipline (yoke or bond) from the Sanskrit word “sangha” or “yuz”. The male trainer is called a yogi, the female trainer is the yogini.

The posters

The contemporary Western approach to yoga is not based on any particular faith or religion, although yoga has its roots in Hinduism and Brahmanism. The development of yoga was mainly done by spectators or monks living in the southern parts of India. The audience observed nature and stayed as close to the Earth as possible, and the animals themselves learned many aspects of nature. By observing and imitating various attitudes and habits of the animal kingdom, they were able to develop grace, power and knowledge.

It was through these highly disciplined lives that yoga forms evolved. It is necessary to develop a chain that is capable of illuminating the body while meditating and to endure peace for a long time.

Works

Brahmanism includes “Veda”. There is instruction and magic in these scriptures. The word Yoga first appeared in the oldest text from the Rastra, RG-Veda, about 5,000 years ago. The fourth text is called the Atharvaveda. It consists mainly of magical rituals and mantras for health healing. The text gave mantras and mantras to the average person to use in their daily lives, and the “Veda” system can still be seen on the streets of India today.

Bhagavad Gita, another ancient work on spiritual life, describes itself as a yoga text, but uses the word yoga as a spiritual instrument. It is from this literature that Patanjali’s “Eight Elements of Yoga” was developed. The Yoga Sutra mainly focuses on developing the “nature of mind”, about which I will explain more in the next part.

A group of fertility priests who worship Rudra, the god of wind, will try to imitate the sound of wind through their singing. They found that sound could be emitted through respiratory control, and “pranayama” was formed through this respiratory control. Pranayama yoga has breathing control.

Roads

The Upanishads, the sacred revelations of ancient Hinduism, developed two disciplines of Karma Yoga, the path of action, the path of enlightenment and the path of knowledge. Paths were developed to help students avoid suffering and eventually achieve enlightenment.

The teachings of the Upanishads were different from the Vedas. The Vedas needed external offerings to the gods to live a prosperous and happy life. The Upanishads focused on the inner sacrifice of Artha to gain freedom from suffering through the practice of Karma Yoga. Instead of sacrificing crops and animals, the abandonment of the (external) internal meaning became the basic philosophy, so yoga became known as the path of sacrifice.

Yoga shares some characteristics with Buddhism. In the 6th century BC, Buddhism emphasized the importance of meditation and the physical approach. Siddhartha Gautama was actually the first Buddhist to learn yoga.

What is Yoga Sutra and how did the actual philosophy of Yoga developing?

The Yoga Sutras are a collection of 195 statements that provide a moral guide to living an ethical life and incorporating the science of Yoga into it. It is believed that the Indian sage Patanjali incorporated it 2000 years ago and it became the cornerstone of classical yoga philosophy.

The word sutra means “a thread” which is used to refer to a specific form of written and oral communication. Due to the strategic style the formula written in the student must depend on a guru to explain the philosophy contained in each. The meaning of each formula can be adjusted to suit the specific needs of the student.

The Yoga Sutra is a form of yoga, yet there is no description of asana or posture in it! Patanjali developed a guide for leading a proper life. At the heart of his teachings is the “Eightfold Path of Yoga” or “The Eight Legs of Patanjali”. These are Patanjali’s suggestions for leading a better life through yoga.

Rupa and two basic exercises of respiratory control yoga are described as the third and fourth limbs of Patanjali’s eight avenues for self-realization. The third practice of expression today is modern yoga. When you join a yoga class, you may find that it is right for your lifestyle.

Eight parts of yoga

1. Yama (ban)

These are like “morals” that guide your life: Your social behavior:

Ahimsa (non-violence) – Do not harm any living being

Truth and Honesty (Truth) – Do not lie

Nonsting (bone) – to avoid theft

Nonsteel (Brahmacharya) – Avoid futile sexual encounters – Restraint in sex and everything.

Helplessness or greed (abstraction) – Gather, free yourself from greed and materialistic desires.

2. Niyam (ritual)

In this way we consider ourselves, our internal discipline:

Holiness (Shuka). Get purity by practicing the five yamas. Consider your body as a temple and maintain it.

Contentment (happiness). Find happiness in what you have and what you do. Take responsibility for where you are, seek happiness in the moment, and choose to grow feel free with atmosphere.

Tapasya (Tapas): To develop self-discipline. Discipline your body, speech and mind for a higher spiritual goal.

Study of Holy Scriptures (Swadhyaya). Education. Study relevant books that inspire and teach you.

Live with the awareness of Paramatma (God-providence). Present what you see as your god or god.

3. Postures

Yoga places are:

Create a healthy body for long periods of sitting and mind. If you can control the body, then you can also control the mind. Patanjali and other ancient yogis used asanas to prepare the body for meditation process therapy.

Practicing yoga can be beneficial for one’s health. It can begin at any time and at any age. We get tough as we grow up, do you remember when you finally went down to pick something up and how you felt? Imagine being in your forties, sixties, seventies, when you could touch your toes or balance on one leg.

Do you know that most of the injuries to the elderly come from waterfalls. Losing your balance by age and helping to do something that is definitely an accomplishment.

Fourth limb, respiratory control is a good vehicle if you want to learn meditation and relaxation …….

4. Pranayama (breathing) – breathing control:

Breathing, stop breathing, breathing

Breathing exercises make concentration and meditation easier. The soul is the energy that exists everywhere, the vital force that flows through each of us through our breath.

5. Pratiharam (Return of the senses),

Pratyahara is the pratyahara of the senses. It occurs between meditation, breathing exercises or yoga poses. As you master the response, you will be able to focus, concentrate and distract from the external sensory.

6. Dharana (concentration), – teach the mind to focus.

There is no sense of time when focusing. The goal is to calm the mind, e.g. Corrects the mind on an object and inspires any thought. Real perception occurs when the mind is able to concentrate easily.

7. Dhyani (meditation), – state of meditation

Concentration (dharana) leads to a state of meditation. In meditation, there is a higher consciousness, and accompanies the universe. It goes unnoticed.

8. Samadhi (absorption), – Absolute bliss

The ultimate goal of meditation is ultimate bliss. This is the state of union between you and your God or Satan, when you and the universe are one.

The eight limbs work together: the first five are about the body and the brain – yama, niyama asana, pranayama and pratyahara – which are the basis of yoga and a stage of spiritual life. The last three are about the rearrangement of the mind. They were developed to help the instructor achieve enlightenment or oneness with the soul.

How to choose the right type of the yoga only for you?

The type of yoga you choose to practice is entirely a personal preference, so here we look to help you get started. Some types are long and some go fast. Some styles focus on body posture, while others differ in their choice of rhythm and expression, meditation and spiritual awareness. Everything suits the student’s physical conditions.

Therefore you need to determine what yoga style is according to your personal mental and physical needs. You may need a work-in-progress workout and want to focus on developing your flexibility or balance. Do you want to focus more on meditation or health? Some schools teach relaxation, some focus on strength and agility, while others are more aerobic.

I suggest you try some different classes in your area. I noticed that even among teachers with a particular style, there are differences in how the student enjoys the classroom. It is important to find a teacher who is really interested in you, so build longevity in your practice.

Once you have learned the posters and started adopting them in your body, you will feel comfortable practicing at home! All types of yoga have sequences that can work on different parts of your body. Fifteen minutes of practice in the morning can be the beginning of your day. Your body will feel strong and bright without lack of time and knowledge, and has the option of developing its own routine.

Main systems of yoga

Hatha and Yoga Raj Yoga are the two main systems of yoga. Raj Yoga is based on the “Eight Elements of Yoga” developed by Pantjali in Yoga Sutras. Raja is a part of the Classical Indian System of Hindu Philosophy stuff.

Yoga in India is a unique form of hatha yoga established by the 15th century yoga sage. Atmaram compiled the “Hatha Yoga Pradeepika”, which introduced the Hatha Yoga system. Hatha yoga is derived from various traditions. It comes from the traditions of Buddhism, including Hinayana (narrow passage) and Mahayana (great path). It comes from the traditions of Tantra and Sahajan (Sahaj Marg) and Vajrayana (related to sexuality).

There are various branches or styles of yoga within Hatha Yoga. This form of yoga works through the physical medium of the body through postures, breathing exercises and cleansing techniques.

It differs from Raja Yoga in Patanjali and from Hatha Yoga in Atmaram, which focuses on the Shatkarmo of “physical purification” as the path leading to “purification of the mind” and “vital” energy. Patanjali begins with “purification of mind and soul”, followed by “body” and breathing.

Major School in Yoga

Forty major schools of yoga and many others claim to be yoga. Some of the major yogas are Raj Yoga and Hatha Yoga (as mentioned above). There is also Pranayama Yoga and Kundalini Yoga arising from Hatha. Wisdom, deeds, devotion, Ashtanga and Ayankara are from the king.

Yoga styles derived from Hatha include:

Pranayama Yoga

The word Pranayama means life, energy, age and stretching. Breath control, length, extension, length, stretch and control describe the functioning of pranayama yoga. Some pranayama breathing restrictions are included in a common set of hatha yoga exercises (to resolve breathing difficulties).

This yoga school is built around the concept of prana (energy of life). There are about 99 different poses, many on or similar to physical breathing exercises.

Pranayama refers to the power of the universe or the absolute power of the universe.

Kundalini Yoga

Kundalini Yoga is in the tradition of Yogi Bhajan, which started in the Western style in 1969. Mantra chanting, meditation and breathing techniques are all used to increase the Kundalini energy in the abdomen. spinal cord.

Yoga styles derived from Raja include:

Raja Yoga / Ashtanga Yoga

Raja means king or king. It is based on guiding one’s life force to bring the mind and emotions into balance. By doing this, God can focus on the object of meditation. Raja Yoga or Ashtanga Yoga is one of the four major yoga routes of Hinduism. The others are Karma Yoga, Jnana Yoga and as well as Bhakti Yoga. The Raja or Ashtanga has its origins in the philosophy of the “Eight Elements of Yoga” by Patanjali.

Power yoga

The famous Sanskrit scholar Shri K. Krishnan, who inspired Western yogis with his Ashtanga yoga style and philosophy. Power yoga was conceived by Pattabi Joyce. Hence it is called the Western version of Ashtanga Yoga in India.

Power yoga is energetic and fitness hence it is very popular in men. It works closely with the student’s mental outlook and vision and applies to the eight limbs of yoga.

Knowledge yoga

Wisdom (sometimes called “knowledge”) means knowledge and intelligence is a sage. Sometimes also known as “Yogi of Vivek”.

This type of yoga focuses on inner life, spiritual disciplines, some relaxation training and meditation and meditative activities. The main goal of enlightenment meditation is to retreat from understanding the mind and emotions of life and self in a deceptive way so that the person can live with reality and soul. This form of yoga is focused on work meditation For change and enlightenment.

Karma yoga

Karma means “action”. Karma Yoga is based on the discipline of Kriya based on the teachings of the Bhagavad Gita, the holy book of Hinduism. This sum of selfless service focuses on fulfilling the duty while remaining away from the reward. Karma is the sum of our actions in life today and in past lives.

Bhakti Yoga

There are many stages of practicing Bhakti Yoga. Bhakti means “devotion” and cow devotion means worshiping according to one’s nature. Bhakta Yoga practitioners are not limited to any one culture or creed, the approach is purely devotion rather than inner life. To worship universal character.

Bhakti Yoga is the stage in which our existence and existence is in contact with the existence and existence of all things. It does not matter whether you believe in something or not, it is an open expression of mind and heart that is unexpected and unknown.

Those who have read about quantum physics, where each atom in the universe is connected to the underlying reality, can compare it to the philosophy behind Bhakti Yoga.

Ayankar Yoga

Born on 14 December 1918, BKS Iyengar developed Iyengar Yoga in India. At the age of sixteen, Guru Guru T. Yoga was introduced by Krishnamacharya. Ayyankar yoga is one of the most popular styles practiced in the West.

Trainers have a good knowledge of the anatomy and precise body position of each face. This method is popular in Western countries because it does not focus on pranayama or breathing techniques and mediation.

Ayyankar yoga gives more ignition for the correct position of the feet to ensure that the spine and hip are in alignment. Ayyankar has developed many different professionals and techniques for the care of individuals for their training.

Other styles

Integral Yoga or Complete Yoga
Ekatam Yoga is a synergistic yoga that combines the paths of karma, jnana and bhakti yoga. It was developed by Swami Sachchidananda.

It is described as a fusion of East and West for Vedanta (Indian philosophy) and strategy (Divine energy transports and sustains the universe, channel energy within the human cell) and spirituality.

Emotions are more relaxed than other types of yoga, and classes usually end with deep rest, breathing, and meditation. Ekatam Yoga is a holistic approach to the Hatha Yoga as it.

Shivanand Yoga

Shivanand Yoga offers a gentle approach. Each session includes meditation, chanting and deep relaxation. Encourages students to stay healthy, including vegetarianism.

Bikram Yoga

Bikram Yoga was founded by Bikram Chaudhary, who was taught by Bishni Ghosh, Paramahansa Yogananda’s brother. Bikram yoga is usually taught in rooms with temperatures of 95 to 105 degrees.

Heat helps to soften muscles and ligaments. There are about 26 asanas, and the heat is so intense that this yoga makes for a real workout. So what this yoga gives more is the physical expression of expression, not the aspect of relaxation and meditation.

Some of the best teachers …

All genres share a common race. The founder of two major genres, Raja / Ashtanga and Adventure, were all great teachers Krishnamacharya.

Mr. T. Krishnamacharya was born in 1888 in Muchukunte village, Karnataka. His formal formal education, mainly in Sanskrit, includes degrees from several universities in northern India. He studied for seven years under a distinguished yogi in western Tibet: Ram Mohana Brahmachari determined the therapeutic use of asanas and pranayama. He later returned to South India and established a yoga school in the palace of the Maharaja of Mysore. He died in 1988 at the age of 101.

Ekatam Yoga and Sivananda Yoga were founded by students of another great teacher, Sivananda. Kuppuswamy was born to Swami Shivanand Saraswati in Pattamada, Tamil Nadu, India. A Hindu by birth, he was a famous proponent of Yoga and Vedanta (an important branch of Hindu philosophy).

He has written over 300 books during his lifetime. In 1936, he founded a new religious movement called Divine Life Society on the banks of the holy Ganges River. He died on July 14, 1963.

Which type is right for you?

These are not all available yogasanas, although you can see that yoga practice varies dramatically from each brief description. Everyone uses physical posture and breathing to strengthen the body for meditation, which is an inherent part of yoga practice.

This is where the student needs to understand what they want from their yoga practice and choose the style that complements it. If you try one and don’t think it is enough, try another, because it will be completely different. If you want you to start something, switch again until you can train for yourself.

Some of us only want to work on the body, some of us want to focus more on looking for self-identity, because I am sure that we have enough styles and our development every day to meet our needs is.

You are never too old to start yoga, I first met people in the seventies and experienced a change in life. If you ever sit and watch your cat or dog awake in the morning, what do they do first? Muscles. If we stop for a moment and see what we can learn from nature and the animal kingdom, we will realize that the simple act of pulling through our development is lost somewhere.

The table below shows the ratings between 1 and 10 that I have given to describe the degree of physical and meditation / relaxation in each yoga practice

३. आसन

yogaImage by OpenClipart-Vectors from Pixabay
